Who am I?

Hi, I'm Marc Isaacson! I've been building websites for clients since 2010 and have been working as a freelancer the whole time. I'm pretty much completely self-taught (with regards to web development*). From the beginning I used Drupal. I currently use it as a framework to build custom web applications for my clients; I'm a code monkey and a back-end specialist. However, I do still know quite a bit about HTML and CSS. I can make my way around Javascript / jQuery as well, although that's definitely NOT my forte. Besides my programming background*, I also taught High School Math for three years as well as a few semesters of community college as an adjunct professor.

So, without making this page too long:

  • No, this isn't a "Drupal only" forum. It's about all things related to being a successful web developer, whatever tool set you use.
  • No, I don't claim to have the answers to all your questions. I will do my best to answer, even researching things as necessary.
  • Everybody in the community has an opportunity to contribute by asking and answering questions, as well as sharing lessons learned.
  • My main role is to make the site amazing for you in other ways beyond answering questions.

* I graduated in 1989 from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign School of Engineering with a Bachelor's of Science in Computer Science. I started out as an AS/400 RPG application developer and did that through 2001. From 1997 - 2001 I was self-employed as a consultant.
